How Did I Miss This?

Remember last summer when the President of the United States, a supposed Constitutional expert, actually signed the law that permitted the indefinite detention of Americans?  Here's where it truly gets frightening:

"Most incredibly, Obama's attorneys refused to assure the court, when questioned, that the NDAA's section 1021 – the provision that permits reporters and others who have not committed crimes to be detained without trial – has not been applied by the US government anywhere in the world after Judge Forrest's injunction. In other words, they were telling a US federal judge that they could not, or would not, state whether Obama's government had complied with the legal injunction that she had laid down before them."

(h/t Protein Wisdom)

Council for the United States could not, or would not, assure the court that they were obeying the injunction. Some possibilities: 1) They had no knowledge and are merely employing CYA or 2) They were instructed to obfuscate or 3) They know the answer and it isn't the one the judge wants to hear.

On a side note, it seems that more often I keep linking to foreign sources.  Just a trend.  That's all.
